George Voyatzis is a specialist in cataract and lens based surgery. He has more than 16 years experience and an enviable record for safety, patient satisfaction and results.
George Voyatzis graduated from Athens Medical school, Greece with a First Class Honours Degree.
After completing his military service with the Greek Air Force, he got a prestigious scholarship to train in Ophthalmology in the UK.
He undertook his ophthalmic surgical training in London and Cambridge. After completing his residency, he trained for two further years at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. During this time he further honed his skills in complex cataract and corneal surgery.
In 2014 he accepted the post of Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Peterborough & Stamford NHS Foundation Trust. He was the clinical lead for the cataract service and received a clinical excellence award for the improvement of the service.
In 2018 he joined the world renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital.
From the start of my medical training, I was captivated by ophthalmology’s unique blend of precision, technology, and meaningful patient impact. The ability to preserve or restore sight remains my greatest motivation.
